Anyone close to pt Cook wanna earn some extra beers?

Postby Stereo » Wed Sep 20, 2006 3:45 pm

They wifey needs a new chain and sprocket, but my favourite bike shops are all booked up for a few weeks....

I am not sure how to do this myself, and I think you need a special tool to shorten the chain or something...

If anyone is in the biz or knows exactly what they are doing and wants to earn some beers or something, let me know....

duane its called the "box of hammers" approach, as in "as dumb as".

good luck with it, chain shortening, not my ideal way of spending an arvy.

its a piece of piss job with 2 tools...

1.rattle gun
2.chain joiner/breaker

without a rattle gun u will need a long bar for torque....

without a breaker/joiner u can get away with a angle grinder & a hammer & lump of wood

he certainly does.
And we proved you don't need a breaker/joiner either.
just make sure no kiddies are present, it is an MA rated event (very strong course language)

I have one if you need to borrow it. Cost's around $80 if you wanna get one yourself though. It'd also be nice to have the lovely lady around to sit on the thing so we can adjust the chain for her weight :)
