Depends on how it's been treated.

Small buzzy multi-cylinder 4 strokes are a complex and high-maintenance device with higher-than-normal serving requirements (i.e a shorter time between servicing). If the bike's been thrashed and not serviced you may only get 30-40,000km out of it. If it's been pampered like Tim's GPX775 it may live to see out and and your kids' lifetime.

Asking a fairly generic question such as yours makes it hard to give an accurate answer, how many kilometres has the bike done in its lifetime, how many owners and how many of them have been 18yo males with this as their first bike? It also depends how many times it's been dropped and how it was done...bikes don't normally like running on their side, the oil isn't where it's needed.

I suppose a Kawasaki mechanic could give you a better than rough idea of its condition from looking at it and testing things like compression.

8)

takes around 10,000kms before it is run in imo. i have a zx2r that did 0kms when i bought it from peter stevens and now its done 11,000kms. everything feels smoother now and better. at 5000kms, everything is still tight and doesnt feel as great. you'll see mate
:)

they say 1000km on a bike, tho id reckon 2-3000km it should be well and truley done...but with 18yo clowns revving the guts out of most 250's, u might as well say 300km...haha

in most bikes u dont start running full synth oil until abt 12,000km neway....
