Aftermath of removing baffles..

Postby ttc » Tue Jul 18, 2006 7:03 am

Ever since I had the baffles removed, bike has been running like a dog :(

Took it to springwood suzuki yesterday, and the air/fuel ratio's were all over the place

at 2,000rpm it was 17
4000rpm it was 14
dips to 12 at 5500
goes to 14 at 7500
and ends at 12.8 at 10000rpm

Still put out 125 at the back wheels, (which I'm happy with since it's just a detuned nine, hey Brett :P)

Goes back in Thursday to have a power commander fitted and be redynoed.

hey, have tou blocked off the kleen air system?? coz it throws out the a/f ratios, not sure if a suzuki dealer might know how they work on a Kwak?

i havent got my readout handy at the moment, but i could get it to you, maybe even fax it to ya work or something if you like.
i had my kleen air blocked off, and with just the airbox mod done, got 123 at the wheel.

edit: is the running rough you speak of just the kleen air spluttering??
i have a tap on mine, and it maked quite a different sound when blocked off, lots smoother!

Tanya you should have known better !!
Working in that Yammy place so long mucked you up.....

Kawasaki seen fit to put shit house FI (I have been told it is DFI not EFI??) on our bikes. Mine too. We NEED PCIII's. (or GSXR's  )

NOW if you HAD have taken it to LAE you would already have perfect fueling..... (Springwood SUZUKI ???) They are used to fixing it after we muck it up
Ring Alex, tell him Froggy sent ya (and that you are damn good looking) and I am sure he will fit you in during your lunch break.
AND it will only cost you $200 max or I pay the extra (NAH Meanie can  ).
YOU have to pay for the PCIII but !!
Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

Do you just buy the PCIIIusb from Serco?

Guys, Guys, Guys, The efi on our bikes doesn't get confused with different exhausts etc it's just tuned for the std setup....

The ecu doesn't know or care what cams, exhaust, air filter etc etc that you run, it just injects the appropiate amount of fuel it's maps tell it too based on throttle position, air temp & maybe O2 sensor if it has one for emissions & then that's only on constant throttle...

It's still only a slightly smarter carby.....

Young chicks are just DUMB !!! (fark what have I done now!!) and I am 40+ now  so they just P me off.
In this case I liked Alex a lot and he did me a good deal

Riss's SX made peak power @ 12.2 & that's too lean to be safe....

Huh?? 13 isn't lean, unless you're running a turbo on your bike. 14.7 is ideal on a naturally aspirated engine (obviously a bit richer is safer) but 12.2 is rich.
