First of all you own a ten, it's not exactly built for fuel economy - you wouldn't see Ferrari owner checking fuel comsumption.
Secondly it depends on how you ride. If you regularly use WOT (wide open throttle) in the twisties, you'll use more fuel than if you ride along the freeway at 5000rpm.
Thirdly, the 10 has a very large reserve. The fuel light comes on with 5L left in the tank, from a whole tank of 17L. On the freeway the light tends to come on at 220-230Km and around town at around 180-200Km. If you head straight to a close by servo the fill up will be 12-12.5L, head for some serious twisties and you'll see the fuel light at around 150Km.
As previously said, when the engine is new it is tight and takes a bit extra fuel whilst it beds in. This does improve, although the right wrist may start to get more active as you get used to the bike. For some great info on the ZX10R, go
