Can't everyone quote the incremental model changes from memory at will?

Funny you should say that, actually... but I only have one for a G-model, unfortunately.
Tell you what's a spinout, though; the ZX9-C has a cam position sensor. Very unusual for a carbed bike.

some people cant remember what tyre pressure to run

I can't remember what day it is and who to be nice to???
I have to look at a bike from the side to see the decals to see what type of bike it is...sooooo
I guess this means I have too many other things to worry/think about...
I wanna talk about religion and politics, cos I know fark all about them as well.
But, If I take a small weanie(no pun) from what everyone has to say I might learn something. So I-K whoever you are keep telling us what is the right thing and I'll learn somfin one day.
cheers

Just be a prick to everyone, like I do.

Back in my young nerdy days I could tell you the name/model of an aircraft by it's sillhouette, engine sound, ordanance list etc etc etc.
Funnily enough, don't find much need for that these days.
Hopeless with bikes when it comes to picking bikes when they don't have headlights in them!!!

I knew I-K would save the day... well, atleast save me from a mistake... gotta get a J series engine.... you reckon (I-K) that the 00-01 was any different, e.g.: they learned how to cast alloys better from year to year?!
I'll print that out and take it to the mechanics..... thanks a mil I-K.
Neil- yes, i wish I knew what the hell put all that force onto the shaft linearly... everything else in my engine and that shaft (all gears, all bearings, all spacer/rings, all EVERYTHING) looks brand new!! not so much as a scratch from touching each other.... okay, normal wear and tear i guess, but it looked nice! it's actually an amazing bit of kit... all the tolerances and the way everything is so smooth in there.. very nice.... ahem... if it WORKED!!! well, okay, so it isn't the engine per se, but it's the damn engine case......
welp, back to the drawing board.... finding an engine, or messing with the engineers/machinist..... but if i "repair" what i consider "unrepairable".... i mean, no, i just can't..... it'll just break again? yeah?

heeeeere we go......
okay, rang wrecker in Albion (hint hint) to tell him i won't have the '99 engine as it isn't compatible... quoted the items I-K listed.... he says whoever told me that was "a so and so"... and anyway that it didn't matter, cuz i need the motor not the electrics.....
HEEELP!!!
does it matter? It sure as hell sounds like it does!! and it also sounds like Al (oops!) wants to move this '99 motor.....
I reckon it isn't compatible... full stop.
but what would be (apart from obvious)... could i get a 9 in there?!
Fri Nov 04, 2005 9:55 am
I went back to my photos from the 9's gearbox rebuild to see how it compares to the design of the same part on your six. The 9 has that ring sitting fair in the middle of the much wider bearing, not to one side.
Good luck finding the bits you need...once it's all back together you won't feel so bad about it all.

Ah-huh... I see.
Let him know I like my apology headjobs performed with a mouthful of crushed ice...
And here's a gratuitous shot of a ZX9 in bits.

Waiting for shims to come in from Precision Shims, and for stock main jets to come in from Japan (can't handle putting more fuel through that bike than I do through the car).
Pulled it apart because it's gotten a bit clattery, vibey and juddery at low revs since coming back from the Island.
Only things wrong with it that I could find were two missing intake port vacuum-bleed blanking screws (top-end pressure-equalisation plumbing removed; I'm putting it back) and a camchain tensioner which didn't, as I've been finding is normal, spring back from the head on its own with the retaining bolts undone-indicating the spring hasn't advanced it enough.

sounds like what happened to my cam chain tensioner. had it and the chain replaced at about 74K and its been fine ever since.
