BM first thing you should try in the mean time is run half a bottle of injector cleaner through it, i have had the same problem with my 2000, it's not neccessarily the exhaust valve that is the problem, once i ran the injector cleaner through it i didn't have a problem again, some of the indendantly owned (but still brand named servos are serving up dodgy fuel)

when the light comes on the bike will go into limp mode and will rev freely up until 5-6,000rpm then will pull like a dog, it could be the vavle but give the injector cleaner a try in the mean time if your not booked in for the service that is, which in that case just get the to plug it in and run a diagnosis

edit: it's not just the 06 they have the problem with it started with the 00 and has run through all the K series, you would think they would have found a solution by now

Mine might have to join the bonfire if this keeps up.

Thanks Dunit- the injector cleaner is worth a try before taking it in. Will let you know how I go.

had a talk with a few people and we are all going with the butterfly valve in the exhaust. No offence but do you ever rev the tits off it? If they are never ridden above 5000rpm then the valve can get coked up (bloody Columbians) and wont shut properly, apparently (as in I know shit) taking it for a good flog CAN fix it. If you want said bike caned please call me on ......... :lol: Seriously but its worth a go before spending money.

Just because you can ride, doesnt mean you should. My reason on this earth is an example to others what NOT to do.

No offence taken Frog. :D
And yes, it gets above 5000rpm every day, but I'll take it for a good flog just in case! ;)

5000rpm = 110km/hr in 6th on mine?

I'm thinking a certain young vet nurse may not be QUITE as much the 'good' girl as she might like to have us believe - espescially with a gixxa between her legs :cheesy:
