Wattie wrote:i went through a bit of a shitfight with a shop over a tinted visor that i couldnt see through.
they said they'd get the manufacturer to look at it and replace it, i asked for a replacement straight away as i was going on holidays on the bike, they said no (well actually the girls said yes, but the ass of a boss said no).

i then went back the next day witht he new helmet and asked for a refund, as it was useless to me without the tinted visor. they said no, so i made a bit of a scene in fron of some customers. he still said it wasnt his problem.

i gave them a few days, (my holiday fast approaching) i rang consumer affairs. they told me to that they shop should replace the product or give me my money back, then deal with the manufacturer themselves.

i emailed this the the shop owner and then called the store and told them i was coming down.
he told me he would not refund at all. so i informed him of my speaking with consumer affairs.

i drove down to the shop, he had the shits, "want refund or another visor?" i took refund and told him what i thought of his customer skills.

went to another shop and bought a visor, while i was there the rep from the helmet company wass there. spoke to him, he hadnt been told about the faulty visor, so he checked over my new one and sent me on my way.

havent been back to the dodgy shop yet. except when they had an open day, i went and ate their free sausages

Rusty wrote:For ZXR250s, the gun tyre is a Dunlop. No-one's more surprised than me. Dunlop GPR A-10 (that's "alpha" 10).

For the new Ninja 250, the front's the same size as the ZXR, and a 140 should go on the rear ok. Might slow the steering a smidge, depending on profile. Giggle-inducing amounts of grip. Not brilliant wear, though.

For a small bike the Dunlop alpha 10 is the shit ! As in shit to a blanket . And pretty good in the wet too .

so far for me the BT45 (on my bike) is handling pretty well in both wet and dry... have been pushing fairly hard a few times in the dry and holds up pretty well...

Bridgestone
BT45: 110-70 / 130-70
BT92: 110-70 / 140-70

Michelin
PILOT ACTIVE: 110-70 / 130-70
PILOT POWER: 110-70 / 150-60
PILOT ROAD 2: 110-70 / 150-70
PILOT ROAD: 110-70 / 150-70
A39/M39: 100-80 / 130-70 (commuter)

Metzeler
SPORTEC M1: 110-70 / 150-60
ROADTEC Z6: 110-70 / 130-80 bloody close
SPORTEC M3: no specs i can find as yet

Dunlop
ARROWMAX GT501: 110-70 / 130-70

Pirelli
Diablo strada: 110-70 / 150-70
Sport Demon: 110-70 / 130-70
Diablo: 110-70 / 150-60

it would be interesting to see what the pilot active is like, maybe ill try that when im up for a replacment...

cheers

I'm running Dunlop Pilotpower on the VTR and highly recommend them...bit of a soft compound, but a great tyre...
