A mate of mine is playing with a postie bike also.

From what I noticed he's put on a staintune pipe, pod filter and different bars with bark busters. I'll ask him a bit more when I speak to him next and take a pic also.

I have put a set on every serious dirt bike I have had.
They help prevent lever breakage and especially your hands being whipped by those fast moving bastard tree branches (how dare they move so fast) or from having the"bark" taken off your hands or broken bones when smackin your way through the bush scraping bark off trees etc, bouncing off stuff as you do .. Hence the name "barkbusters". Also good to minimise wet and cold.
Been around for decades and a must have for that kind of riding.

I've seen pictures of both turbo and NOS mods - baby steps, big bore first. (is that a baby step?)

Nothing major yet - but I've begun making some changes, albeit minor.

This first shot is basically a general 'before' shot, however I have removed the front rubber mud-guard in this shot already (did that a week ago)...


Today I spent a bit of time checking a few things out in preparation for later changes, but I also:
- removed the skid pan
- removed useless 'toolbox' from the rack
- put the rego-label where the toolbox was (tidy up the rear a little) - I'll get a rego tube someday
- tried to remove the read rubber mud-guard. The rusty bolts seized though - no amount of WD40 has helped and I've stuffed the heads now I'll have to cut/grind them off.

So not a lot yet - but I did say it would be slow Looks a little tidier already though I think.

Next will probably be a pod-filter, and trying to get that rear mud-guard off.

Can't make it tomorrow - mother's day and all that. Gotta drive up to Gorokan then out to the Blue Mountains, so no fun ride for me.
I'll be out in a couple of week's though I think - though that'll be my Bday and I'm not sure what's planned (if anything)

Replace the handlebars with something decent.... this should improve the bouncyness of the handlebars and cut weight (the higher the weight is the worse it is for handling).... It looks like normal Motocross bars should fit, try to pick up some up cheap somewhere (even the worst of which will weigh half as much as yours)

You can gut the exhaust, getting you some tone (lol) and allowing more airflow
You will probably have to get new needles that are adjustable for the carbie. (I doubt you can get a dynojet needle, but who knows)

Since I have owned a 50cc bike I can highly recommend boring the cylinder out to 80cc, you will naturally need a new piston.... but it will significantly improve performance...
