has anyone used the ivans jet kits?
has anyone here tried the vacuum mod? http://homepage.ntlworld.com/webzxr/zxr750r/Features/ventbowl.html i was wondering about peoples opinions on that little trick.
I've heard nothing but good things about Ivans kits. I've got nothing but good to say about Factory Pro however. As well as their jet kit I've got a +4 advancer that works a treat. Whenever I've emailed Marc a question he has got back to me really quickly with exactly what I wanted to know. The vacuum mod is part of the Factory Pro kit for my '98 6R and works a treat.

Re-the people who have the popping when backing off.
This can also be from a leak in the exhaust. it may be very slight and not noticeable, but when on overrun the vacuum in the exhaust will draw air through the leak and make it pop. if you have an aftermarket systems with slip joints everywhere, i'd be checking over the joins with a piece of rubber hose in your ear and the other end near the joints while the bike is running. you'll hear even the slightest leak.
Bikes make the world go round.

my bike (98 zx9r) has a full akra system on it and has been tuned by balls. it was bought from the auctions tho and getting it rego'd on wednesday. it rides very well but cant really say if its in a perfect state of tune or not (maybe the accident knocked the carbs about, can happen)... but id say all the balls stickers on the bike would be worth at least 15hp any way

my bike gets plenty of popping on over run, i thought it would be due to excessively rich pilot mixtures? unburnt fuel igniting the pipes etc

and the akra system is entirely made up of slip joints... as you can see in this picture

i might get the bike dyno'd just to see if it is running A1, but would be curious to find out exactly what has been done to the bike... see if balls can tell me anything about it without having to open my wallet

the street akra systems (not sure about the "full" race pipes) are developed with standard card and airbox settings, consequently it should run fine if you have the stock air filter and carb settings. well thats what it says on the akra site anyway.

when i got mine it was put on, no adjusting anything and it was ok. that was at 24K. the bike was serviced (carb balance, valve check, spark plugs) about 2K after and it was fine. bike has 98.5K on it now, still running fine - std carbs - std airbox

airbox mod's mean you'll have to start adjusting.... i was turned off using jetkits when pb magazine in the uk trashed a set of carbs cause the needles had rough edges and wore away part of the carbie..$$$$$$$$$ ouch.

just changing the pipe wont affect it much, but headers is a different story

this is the akra system i have... http://www.akrapovic-ai.si/main/catalog ... -K9S2.html they claim a ~10hp gain 8)

Confused as mentioned because.. if rich or air leaks then why does it go away when the choke is applied. This makes it even richer off main and uses the same exhaust (obviously).
Just one more law and everyone will be safe.
