I had OEM 016s from a new ZX10R on my ZRX & couldnt fault them. In fact I think they are pretty good. They are only single compound, which is the softer one of the 2 compound front aftermarket, thats why they dont last. Mine wore evenly over the whole tyre, the only thing I did notice was the front wear rate was greater than the rear.
Remember tyre pressure is the single biggest factor in tyre performance, & life.. Being an ex racer I am anal about finding the correct pressure for the right tyre. Do some testing using different pressures & I think you'll find a huge improvment in tyre life & performance.

Leanne has been through a few sets of BT016s on her 10. As others have mentioned the fronts wear fast, but other than that they have been a good tyre and the rear has never let go on her. She usually gets over 6000k's out of a rear and about 3000 out of a front, but changing the height of the bars has taken some weight off the front end and stopped the front tyre wearing so much lately. If your rear tyre is spinning up I'd say either your suspension, riding technique, or tyre pressures need adjusting.

I haven't fiddled with the spring pre load, rebound damper force & compression damping force adjusters. According to OEM specs the bike is set up for a 68kg rider; I'm not that far off from, well perhaps alot more when having one to many liquid lunches and not hitting the gym.

What pressures would you run on the road with 120/70ZR17 & 180/55ZR17?

Your assuming it is set up at OEM specs from the factory. ;)

Oh and your weight is not everything when it come to suspension settings

I fully agree with Nelso on this one...
Take the factory settings with a grain of salt, they mean nothing. Really only a guide. Suspension settings & tyre pressures are the biggest factor in 99% of handling issues.
I run 36/38 [cold]on my Ninja 1000 & ran the same on the ZRX1200.Both pretty heavy bikes. [But I do a lot of two up riding] But thats what suits me, might not be for you. Suspension tuning over the net is anything but correct.
I did a couple of friends Z1000 & 08 Blade which were set to OEM settings, & they were miles from where they should have been. Once set up correctly the bikes were transformed & smiles all around.
Also how long has it been since you've had your forks & shock serviced? These items work very hard & just like your engine need servicing. Its funny how people dont ever worry about suspsnsion service. Yet if they cant get the correct oil for their engine they get into a flap, & start to panic. Just food for thought

Firstly:: sag isnt the be all to your problems, yes its nice to get it right, but not as important as people think, unless pushing to bike to its limits, which NO ONE can do on the road, even if they think they can!
5000Ks shouldnt be a problem, Im sure its a tyre pressure + suspension issue. Thats an easy fix..
If you want to come up for a ride I will take a look for you. If not Im sure there will be people on here that can help your sort it out & point you in the right direction. No need to throw money at it at this stage.. :)
