Yep cold tyres and inexperience led to my downfall leaving me more embarrassed than bruised  No harm done just thought Id clarify that I still think they're great road tyres despite my clumsiness :x

oh dear firey!!!

ive never tried em but it seems pilot road 2s are the go...although you could also try pirelli carsa 3s (hard centre on rear tyre) and you may also want to think about a BT016.. it has a hardish compound in the centre of both front and rear tyres...

FWIW i love the M3s, and im having no trouble with mileage, but then id expect that

Ok went to check out tyres today and tyre shop dude suggested Pirelli Stradas, He said he'd been getting alot of dual compound tyres back with the sides ripped to shreds, whilst the hard centre was still like new? He also said Roadsmarts "dunlop" are an economy tyre meaning cheap.

Well i have had a lot of differant tyres metzler m3s michys road and powers, dunlop 208 rr 207rr and if the roadsmarts are cheap and shit then so are the rest of them. ;) The only thing that has worn in the sides before the middle of the tyre is the sides of the front.

I'm presently running Mitchy Road2 on the rear and Power2 on the front. Is probably the most confidence I have ever had in a set of road tyres! OK, it's a zx10 so not exactly a 200Kg bike, and I'm still in the first couple of thousand Km, but I can't fault them as a road tyre. Been good in the wet, great in the dry and plenty of feed back too.
