Fight em, Fight em hard  you as the customer have rights & this was clearly their fault, if you haven't already get the solicitor to send them a nasty letter & they will probably pay up to avoid the hassle :P

It's free to go to small claims for god's sake!
And even vcat is bugger all....go for it man ;)
The may buckle at just the threat of possible bad press.
A possibly locked up wheel at 100 kph is dangerous and all sorts of scary shit for them if you start going to Gobment dept's on the saftey issue.
100% bluff works about 80% of the time anyway
Their bluff is working aint it, they are relying on you giving up :kuda:

Hey Mouse,

I had a new cylinder head installed on my old KZ650, when I got it back it was leaking oil from the Cam Chain Tensioner area, on closer inspection found the block was cracked and not a gasket as was first thought.

I told the Mechanic to come pickup the bike and fix the F#$% thing, he said I was going to have to pay. I said you can either fix or I will do it and charge him for it. He said he would fix it under his workshop insurance, he was scared his premuim would go up at which I said Not My Problem!

The end result was my bike was fixed for $0.00, the Mechanic supplied a second hand set of barrels and new Gasket set. Unfortunately when I got the bike home the carbies were left loose, the timing wasn't done and the bike ran like crap. Oh yes the the cam tensioner gasket was F$%d so I made my own and now fixed.

I will always do the work on my bike myself, so far I have had my caliper bolts left finger tight, another time I had the front axel pinch bolts left loose and the fork leg walking all over the place and servicing that was charged for but not done.

Stuff it, do it yourself if you can. If you can't check everything yourself after and don't be scared to go back and stand your ground after all they have Insurance and if they don't it still doesn't matter. In the end it is your neck that is going to get broken if some Ar@# wipe doesn't do his job properly.

See ya
Noel
