I was told today by good mechanic as of 1/5/08 Michelin put there price up on there rubber stuff! I think PP went up $20 or so on the front and about $50 or so on the rear! Gunna cost close to $600 for a set of tyres on the 10 YIKES!

Start ruffling up some feathers you reckon? You think its worth the hassle? I have the bike, its running, I need it to commute with and if it took 2 weeks for a rear how long would it take for a matching set?

absolutely worth it.

there is no need to leave them the bike whilst they get you your new rear tyre then when they have it ready you can ride in and ride out with a new tyre within 20mins.

you have been let down by 3 companies in one hit, Someone needs to pay for your loss and it shouldnt be you!!!!

So Rob, you as a customer are willing to just let it go with a fix that is not as good as what you have started with? I bet none of them have called you today to check that everything is ok & you are finally satisfied with the result..... thought not  you have been jipped! don't let it go mate. Damn I hope someone from FW is reading these comments & taking it on board, their reputation is diminishing

Just sent an email to Kawasaki asking them for the other front tyre or clarification IN WRITING that the bike is 100% safe for its intended purpose... Im seriously doubting they would put their Liability insurance on that one so fingers crossed for a new front tyre to match the rear???

And seriously FW were promised the tyre and were let down by the supplier on Thursday. Then within a day I had the bike on the road (albeit with odd tyres) as thats what Kawasaki sent them... Not really their fault as far as Im concerned :? And being down to one mechanic again means Rob is run off his feet at the moment. Really Im not upset with them at all!

OK an update (sorry its long)

Spoke to them today and Flywheels are organising a matching IRC tyre for my front before the track day at EC this week. When I rang Craig he actually had been pro-active by trying to get in touch with Kawasaki today to get the IRC tyre from their pre-production bike so he could throw it on mine when my Yoshi comes in. If not they were going to give me the Bridgestone when it arrived in a months time... (FW didnt know I was going for a track day this weekend)

It was 2 weeks to get the bike back but I have to also clarify as I was away for 9 days and they stored my bike for me. The day they were promised a matching tyre was the day before I could pick it up. They were let down by the importer last Tuesday. Wednesday arvo they had spoken to Kwaka and were told that on a pre-production bike had the same make / model tyre as mine was being sent via courier to them. Courier f'd up and delivered it Friday arvo... So with all that F up it was only 2 days later than expected... Turns out Kwaka had F'd up too and wamo there I had an IRC tyre... Really I was just happy to ride away in the end!

So now Im running about (at least mobile) and will get a matching tyre for safety's sake for EC this Sat! Im actually really happy with the dealer's service on this one. What else could they have done?

i am glad you continued the good fight and getting some resolution that you are happy with.

to answer what could have been done i would have liked to seen one of the following.

Bridgestone = credit flywheels the cost of the tyre and allowed flywheels to fit a subsitute brand immediately
Kawasaki = sent a technician straight away to flywheels with the tyre from there HQ or credited flywheels the amount for a new rear tyre so flywheels could have acted more quickly
Flywheels = after 24hours of huntin with no success they should have replaced the tyre with another brand and fought the expense internally with Kawa and bridgestone.

flywheels as the distrutor and the company that accepted your money in exchange for the sale a brand new bike ,is under the obligation to provide service and act as the middle man to the manufacturer. Some would argue (usually the store) that it is the manu that warrants the product therefore they are to make the decision but as soon as they accepted your sale and therefore there profit they are binded by law to be your contact for all matters of service whilst under warranty. it is there duty to communicate with the manu and resolve the problems not you. if there is a problem with the response from Kawa then it is still up to FW to buffer this and supply you with a replacement within a reasonable timeframe then it us upto FW to chase this up internally. No need to expose you to the delay

They did! Were told it was on its way and when it didnt arrive blew up at the distributor. That day had a replacement from Kwaka then got stalled by the courier company... Trust me they did do their best! And Im more than happy to recommend / purchase from them again for service or another set of wheels :D

i went through a bit of a shitfight with a shop over a tinted visor that i couldnt see through.
they said they'd get the manufacturer to look at it and replace it, i asked for a replacement straight away as i was going on holidays on the bike, they said no (well actually the girls said yes, but the ass of a boss said no).

i then went back the next day witht he new helmet and asked for a refund, as it was useless to me without the tinted visor. they said no, so i made a bit of a scene in fron of some customers. he still said it wasnt his problem.

i gave them a few days, (my holiday fast approaching) i rang consumer affairs. they told me to that they shop should replace the product or give me my money back, then deal with the manufacturer themselves.

i emailed this the the shop owner and then called the store and told them i was coming down.
he told me he would not refund at all. so i informed him of my speaking with consumer affairs.

i drove down to the shop, he had the shits, "want refund or another visor?" i took refund and told him what i thought of his customer skills.

went to another shop and bought a visor, while i was there the rep from the helmet company wass there. spoke to him, he hadnt been told about the faulty visor, so he checked over my new one and sent me on my way.

havent been back to the dodgy shop yet. except when they had an open day, i went and ate their free sausages

all class i am!!
