Thanks guys for searching for a manual. I managed to get a hold of one - 320pages worth
It IS THE ALTERNATOR LEADS!!!!!!!!!!!!! gggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :x
So now we got hold of a multimeter and tested the leads leading out from the alternator. But all 3 black leads read exactly the same ! So that has confused us even more

heres a question I need answering from all you kWaka people please - is it a 3 way alternator system???? And to solder the chewwed wires back together - will it matter whats what??????????????? :?

Around page 282 of the 2000 to 2002 manual it shows three leads coming from the alternator that would all be AC power and they are coloured black, the diodes for rectification are in with the regulator,it says that you should get from 53.5 to 72.5AC between one black lead and another @4000RPM and this is tested across three connections so I would assume that it wouldn't matter which ones are connected to what just be sure they are definately your alternator output leads.

Regards
