thats a timely bump ! Looking forward to seeing how your mate goes with all the experimenting....
Would your mate know where I can source some damper-valves for the older style dial-gauges ?? I was given a set of good quality vacumn gauges a few years ago, and want to set up a 4-bank set and a 2-bank set......but don't have any of the screw-in damper valves that these style of gauges need ?
Any advice would be great
UPDATE .....
Well courtesy of another post motivating me to play garden blitz , I had a little wander around Bunningsthis morning ...........
Gos - your answer re damper valves / vac tubes is found in the micro irrigation section - green tap with black body , small barb each end ....
>> I was then wondering how the hell I was going to adapt to the centre two cylinders on the 9 (blank plugs require removal and adaptors fitted) and hew presto in said micro irrigation section they have neat little double ended barb fittings for joining the small black micro spray flexi hose (also purchased) NOT THE THREADED TYPE (too small)- the BARB type.
The eye measureometer reckoned all was good ... came home and set up on the 9 and hey presto - works a fucking treat!!!
The little barb fittings can be screwed into the centre carb vac holes , being plastic they form their own thread .
The little micro spray tap thingies work perfect!!!
The small micro spray hose is perfect to run to the gauges too!!!
Total cost of about $25.00
9 is now tuned and running MUCH healthier!!

---Spose I'd better get back to the gardening bit DAMMIT
