Hope them bushes are cheaper than the WR450 ones I just did - $80per leg just the parts.

I'm just getting lazy mate! Some jobs I just couldn't be arsed doing. I find forks fiddly, so I tend to avoid doing them when I can. Same with electrickery! It SNAFU's me all the time that shit does! Give me and engine any day of the week. But Forks, Shocks and electrickery I leave to the boys who know these days! Plus Trevor doesn't charge too much either. I gues it helps knowing him like we do, but either way, it's money well spent in my books mate!!!!
I havn't got a compressor or a rattle gun, so it makes getting the bottom bolt out near impossible. Plus, Trevor made a small mod for me on the Hydraulic stopper to allow less pre-load without bottoming out. I also had him set the oil heights a little higher to assist with this too. So I am looking forward to trying them out at Broadford on the weekend. I'll use it for one or two sessions just to have some wheelspin fun after I've run in the 6. :)

Got mine back and put em in on the weekend. New oil and dust seals, honed the legs to get rid of the scratches and new oil.
On first impressions they don't feel much different to when I freshened em up...
We'll see tomorrow....

Well I did some rides on some pretty rough roads on Friday and Sunday and there wasn't a drop of oil anywhere, but then a day or two of commuting and there's a little rainbow smudge on the back of the left fork...I dunno if I need to worry about it :?

After flogging the 9 around Broadford on Saturday, I am pleased to say that the newly modded front forks worked a treat. I only had to go one more click of rebound to sort it from where it had been set by Trevor Manly. In the first session it was running a little wide on the exit of turns. Another click of rebound and the problem was solved. No more leaks and suspension which now works consistently!

Also the mods he made to the Hydraulic bump stops worked well, with me being able to run less preload yet still not bottom out. Mint! This is the second set of forks that trevor has done for me and he hasn't dissapointed so far! :)

When i have some more spare cash, i am going to have him do the shock and rear spring as well.

I can't remember zachary what he charged me??? It was late 05 when I had the racer done. From memory with a revalve (you may not need springs, although even at your weight -I'm 75kgs and he recommended I go up a weight in springs-I havn't incidently, as I reckon it won't make me any faster on the road  ) it's prolly gunna be @$350 from memory! When yr ready I'll give ya his number. :)

BTW, mate, I think I may ride My ZZR250 instead of the nine...just to give you n big kev a chance !!!!

If the suspension is so bloody wonderful on Kawasaki bikes as "strika" put it, why the f#@%k does it need to be modified? And gos what would Mick Hams know, compared to your knowledge of suspension?
Maybe your mate should go and work for Kawasaki, they might learn something!!!

For exactly the same reason that you need to modify most brand new Ohlins after market shocks as well. They are built with certain compromises, and to a price point. That doesn't mean that either are crap, just they can be improved.
