I reckon it's a reasonable question considering that with the fairings off a lot bits get exposed that normally don't.
Personally I wouldn't go washing the insides like I do the outside, especially around the electrical sections.

the validity i guess can be questioned, as u dont want to use a high pressure hose on ur electricals where it may assist with corrosion, nor do u want to get water into bearings etc...

but generally speaking they dont recomend u use a high pressure type hose anyway, and considering the water restrictions u should be using bugger all water... its a common sense thing...

True, but common sense can be pretty wrong so it's nice to find out what other people think. For example common sense suggests that fully warming up an engine at idle is a good thing, but that's not the case.
I've got a fair few questions that might appear to be common sense to others e.g. Is it OK for my oil pressure light to keep coming on under braking, even when braking in the rain (i.e. not quickly)?

yea but ur questions are a little more in depth than

"how do i take a seat off" and "whats the avg 10km inline skating time" and "can i wash my bike naked"....

maybe we just like dishing out on penny?? maybe its nice cos there leaving me alone??

well another way u can do it is by climibing up the power pole finding the tranny and running wires from the tranny to ur bike.

Not really - it sounds like your oil level is far too low. Either that, or there is just a dodgy connection somewhere ? Oil pressure light should only light up when the engine is not running (ie no oil pressure), if it comes on when the engine is running, then the oil level is too low and there is not enough oil pressure in the system.
