$300 isnt so bad, after theyre straightened theyll still need to be completely rebuilt, and no I havent priced the outer tubes new because its only the inner ones (teh chrome ones) that seem to be bent. Also I dont want to be scared by the price. Needless to say if I need new ones theyll be coming from MotoKawasaki in devonport and not greg davies.

i had Bill's bikes pull the forks apart, and rebuild them...i think abt $250 for wot they did...i took the tubes to Cycleweld here in SA, steve welded em back to look like they were never crashed, and straightened em...then a guy who contracts for bills painted em, gr8 job..abt $500 all up i think
Painting $110
Weld/Str8 $165
Pull apart/put back $250 (inc all new oil, seals etc)

So did they cut the chrome tubes off yours to straighten them?
If mine cant be straightened I wonder if its possible for them to refabricate the chrome tubes and then hard anodise them or something? I guess ill find out, hopefully borrowing a mates racestand today so should get them off the bike and sent away monday.

OK theyve been straightened, they were done by a local mechanic who must be a magician because the left one was actually kinked!
To straighten and rebuild both forks... $150.
Kinda a mates rates thing as he works very near to my dad so they know each other. Regular rates would have been only $200-$250. Ill get em back tomorrow or the next day so ill tell ya'all how they turned out.

I just got my forks back, absolutely perfect.
Im really surprised because there was even a visible kink in one of them, all gone now. So for anyone in the future if you bend your forks dont despair, chances are they can be straightened, possibly even by the local mechanic. Expect to pay about $300 in total to straighten both legs and fully rebuild the forks with new oil and seals. Very impressed, ill be back on the raod soon, I look forward to coming up to the mainland for a ride with some of you guys.
