just curious, what gear are you trying to start it in?

you never use first when push starting a bike, 2nd is usually the go... but if its still too hard, maybe try 3rd?

as in it could burn out the starter motor

do you have a multimeter?

use it to measure voltage at the battery terminals while trying to start the bike, then measure it at the starters terminals while trying to start it to see if there is any voltage drop

What dose it mean if there is a voltage drop?
Also its a 3 post motor ( winch motor ) across
what terminal do I measure the voltage?

basically measure the voltage at both ends of the cables, at the battery and at the motor (which ever terminals the wires are connected to)

if there is a voltage drop then it means the cables are too small

if you have say 10v at the battery while cranking but only 8v at the motor while cranking then thats a lot of juice not getting to the motor. in that case, try using two runs of the same cable so the current has double the cross sectional area to pass through. also try and keep the cables as short as possible.

if theres no drop then uhmm.... bugger eh :?
