Dunno if I should be awarded a prize for the best wear from a set of tyres or not, but I'm about to don a pair of Avon Azaros after getting 26,600km out of my Pilot Roads Yep, amazing but true. I don't like them though, and thought I'd be a bunny and try something different.

I got 30,000 from my last front, but rears lasts me 15-17000. 26,000 from a rear is stunning - I'd recommend using the twisty bit on the right bar a bit

I also had a Bridgestone BT19 front and BT20 rear...

Have put on a Pilot Power today.... Bike is downstairs will post KM tomorrow...

The rubber seems really soft, so probably wont last anywhere as long as the BT20 but I really wanted to try a sportier tire to see if I can find some extra confidence in the corners.... that said, I have never realy distrusted the BT20's...

Are you referring to 'pulsating' effect like each tyre groove wants to make itself noticed -- at low speed ?

On my 6 the pilot front sticks very well but very tippy too. Need time to get used to, but I'm not gonna buy another one. Want more neutral stuff like the BT14.

It was like a throbbing through the bars and did it at all speeds. Was bloody annoying.

I had Michies and Bridgies on my 12 and they did EXACTLY what your tyes did....
BUT the opposite way

The Michies stayed great (Road Pilots) and the Bridgies scalloped (012SS)
BUT note ROAD Pilot (no scallop) and SS (semi track tyre) did.
My experience mirrors Pontis pretty well.

So while the tyre is (should be) your only contact with the road and the best is what you want TOO soft will scallop....

I get about 4000k out of my tyres and it dont seem to matter WHAT....
as I am running (roughly) the same rubber compounds so brands dont really matter (other than profiles of course)

Never really thought how much clutch/monos hurt them but, KNEW burnouts would (DOH) but never really thought about monos....

Pressures are the tyres killers

Don't think it had anything to do with riding style with regards to the front tyre. It was like it from the day it was fitted. At first I thought it was the road surface. Then I tried adjusting my suspension. Was only until I pointed it out to someone else and they ran their hand over the tyre that we picked it up.

The dealer didn't really want to give me a new one unless Mitchelin cam to the party and, as I've said, they didn't want to know about it.

I have had a michelin out of round before. If thats what you're talking about??? As in the tyre was eliptical in a fashion and as speed rose the tyre would start to bounce on the road.

I was working in a shop when this happened and it was a customers bike and tyre. We rang the distributor, who as usual denied responsibility initially. However, when we explained what we had done to ensure that it was the tyre and not the rim etc., they were cool about replacing it. It can happen sometimes.

I would hope that you may have enough common sense not to discard a product due to a one off occurence. Kinda like saying...I got booked by a policeman for speeding, he was a C--t. Therefore every policeman is a C--t!!!!

It was the state distributor who was contaced and he is a representative of the Michelin company.
