geez paz I just lined up a set of shinkos for 200 bucks :P you have me worried now  everybody says they are great things (m3s)but i am unsure how they would stand up to my constant comute can always try a rear I supose and see what happens to it.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Gee Paz looks like i "put the kiss of Death" onya last weekend talking about the powers being a little prone to punctures. Sorry mate.

But you're opinion on the M3's sounds good & re iterates what others have found. Not a bad price though where'd you get them fitted ?.
I'd be interested to hear a comparison between the M3 & the Racetech's ?
Anyone ?.

come on barra, be a convert like me, you won't look back :P

Ponti I had them fitted where the other two gold coast guys had it done, gold coast motorcycle tyres down at miami. They are both good blokes and they don't talk any shit.

raised the forks 5mm today which has made a huge difference to not only the tip in rate but also the wear on the front tyre, just about all of it is being used now :D

I still havn't used a Racetech. I keep managing to find people who have stocks of Rennsports. However, the guy who originally put me onto these tyres, runs them, and says they are just like the Rennsports, but just a bit better in every way. So here are my thoughts.

The Rennsorts have a slightly sharper profile than the M3's with a much faster turn in rate. Bump stability seams to be about equal. Mileage from a Rennsport is 4500-5000, still havn't worn out the M3, with about 6300klms on it. Likely to get 7500 out of it, maybe a tad more.

Grip- Sorry, there is just no comparison. Ride the bike agressively and the M3's go walkabout at the edge of the tyre. Nothing life threatening, but disconcerting none the less. (Ask Tack, he watched it wander off at one point on a ride not long ago.) The Rennsports however, are just feckin tenacious. I have never slid them on the road that I can remember, and you have to be mental to get them walking around on the track too.

The Metz's on my 900 are confidence inspiring more feel than the Michelins I had on the 600.

Hey Phil, you still got that same M3 on the back of yr 9???? If so, what's the kilomtre update, and how does the last 3rd part of the tyre wear??? As in, does it dissapear quickly as some tyres do in the last stages of wear...... You know, like you set off for a trip thinking it will make it easy, and realise 400klms down the road you need to stop....NOW!!!!

I'd have to go back through my posts n have a look at when I put the M3 on to work out zachary how many klms it's done. But roughly I reckon I had at least 2500 on it when I left Melbourne, and prolly did about 2500klms while away. So it's prolly 5k old now. And I would estimate if wear rates remain static, it would last till maybe 6500-7000klms!

What impresses me, is that I have done 2500 klms fully laden, at a fair clip for most of it and it is still alive. Especially after the return trip from Bombala, with that 187klm stretch of Private road that took 57mins!

Most tyres would have cried enough and disintegrated into the tarmac by now. These will be my summer tyre till one of the other tyre manufacturers gets another leap in technology.

Mine are at around 6100km at the moment and the front still looks good with the rear getting close to the tread markers 8)
