Hi guys
Needs to machine the front discs (assuming legal size, fingers crossed) on my bike. Looking for somewhere in Brisbane to either do on site or that I can take the rotors to.
Cheers

Thibk you might have trouble getting them done. Planet discs in Melbourne did my ZZR1100 discs with a special machine- but they were flaoting discs and the early GPZ900 ones aren't.
Geoff Stokes Engineering in Brissie manufacture discs (GSE) and they might be able to help, or Aussie Bike Discs are in Brissie too- be very careful with his- I didn't like my rear disc from him for my GPZ much....
Stamnas up at Cooroy imports Goodridge discs....he is a bit of a toss, but might be worth a try.

Normally I wouldn’t be a cheapskate and would just do it properly, but in this case I’m trying to avoid buying replacement discs, as apart from the ridiculous expense I am in the process modifying the bike rather heavily. Currently I have the rear end measured up and sitting at a machine shop for a rear wheel conversion, and once this is installed (I will have it back “soon”) and has a month or so on the road without issue I will be doing something similar with the front end.
The best price I’ve found on replacement discs is about $180 each (non-floating) which includes pads. It seems a good price and I can fit them myself no dramas, but near four hundred clams for stuff I’m throwing away seems awfully wasteful!
I have priced them at a wrecker and I’ll only save about $40-$60 total (ie. $20-$30 each) and obviously don’t get pads with them. For that money I’d sooner buy the new ones but the whole exercise seems like a waste (have to do it though, for a roadworthy).
Still hoping to find a machinist…

Hi Shifty, mate I went thru the same thing 3 months ago , ended up paying $440 I think , so if you can get em for $180 thats better than I could do,
Oh and forgot to add I have a set up on ebay as well, money back if not satisfied !
