I just recently bought an 1998 zx9r for a track bike it had a leaking head gasket, and since removing the engine to replace both cylinder head gasket and lower gaskets, I thought that i would also replace the cam chian while I was at it. Little did I know it seems looking at the manual that i have to split the gearbox and crankcasing. I was hoping to hear from some of you that have experience on this particular area, to let me know if there is any shortcuts. If not can any one tell me if there is any real concern with the splitting of the gearbox and crankcasing? Would the gears become displaced by doing so. Hoping some out there will provide me with any assistance in this are........
