Nissin calipers...are they the same?

Postby MrWasabi » Tue Apr 05, 2011 6:30 pm

Anyone know if the nissin calipers you find on an 07+ ZX14 are the same as the ones you find on the 09 Concours ZG1400?

From the pictures ive seen they look identical, but internally are they the same?

id hope so. Im actually going to install a right hand caliper from a zx14 and left from a zg1400...we'll see what happens. But if anyone knows any specifics of the internals, such as if the fluid holes are the same bore etc... that info would be appreciated.

They be fine me thinks.

They are insane brakes :)

Abs does not affect the caliper either. So you should be good to go

Give someone like Kelens a ring tomorrow. They've always been happy to answer questions over the phone for me in the past.

Yes the 09 Concours ZG1400 calipers are exactly the same as the ZX14 & 07+ ZX6R calipers :D Nothing at all different about them even though the Concour ZG1400 has ABS it must be somewhere in the Master Cylinder or something to do with that other disc thingy on the front disc & electrics  My best mate always tells me how them brakes are so touchy on my bike to be careful along the highway at speeds that a mosquito dont hit the front brake lever & make me catapult off the seat :kuda:

I fitted a set of ZX-14 Nissin calipers with standard pads to my 2006 ZX10R. Brakes are awsome and I think they have plenty of feel. I haven't used them on the track but a bit of fast road and rain riding haven't shown up any issues.

Great upgrade and cheap as chips to do.

And after the run from Hotham to Harrietville they had not faded one mm  Not bad considering it was pulling up a ZRX barge & fat pilot that was following a ZX10R and Z1000 (and another ZRX ;) )
