09-10 ZX6R Slip-ons

Postby fireyrob » Mon Mar 29, 2010 12:02 pm

Hey All

Sold the Gumby over the weekend and will pick up a ZX6R on Wednesday :kuda: There is only 1 accepted colour unanimously :kuda:

Didnt end up with the 2010 Zeddy for two reasons. One, the wait is too long and two the price is way up there :?
No 2009 Zeddy cause I didnt want to spend heaps on suspension which would take me over the price of the 6
Didnt end up with a Barge cause apparently I dont need it any bigger

Have decided to get a Akra and Fender and still come way short of the zeddy on price... :kuda:

The Akra slip-on has two options. Keep the servo connected (the new pipe has the valve thingy) or can get the pipe with a link pipe that removes the silencer at the base of the bike. From what Ive been told the Cat is within the headers meaning Im not removing it just the silencer. Does that sound right?

Anyone done this? Not wanting to spend any more than that on it so dont want a PC etc. Would the link pipe require a map jobbie from a PC? If so I probably wont bother with it...

Thanx for any feedback :D

go the akra that gets rid of the cat/boom box underneath.

akra's are normally designed not to need tuning. 8)

is that the hissing sound you hear when you turn the ignition on? the valve opening and closing?

Thinking an akra slipon for mine too rob, but mine was more based on price than tuning ;)

No its your fuel injectors priming ;) the sound you can hear is the fuel pump in the fuel tank.

Thanx for the hijack! At least it looks like someone's reading this

Ended up ordering a MGP Growler slip-on and will leave the silencer where it is. After some consideration and a look in my wallet the Akra was just too exe...
