Chain for a tracky/race bike

Sun Nov 08, 2009 6:57 am

What's the general consensus for chains used on track/racing bikes only? I'm up for a new chain as the one I have certainly can't cope with all the grunt my old 9 puts out :P and I have ceased links all over the place. Someone advised me recently that a non o-ring, non x-ring etc type is the way to go as it produces less friction, lighter and is what all the good/fast racers use? :? Any thoughts or recommendations?

Cheers

Kev, its exactly what you have already mentioned, save your bucks & get a cheep chain & replace it each season, & while you are at it do a 420 convesion to loose even more weight ...... its strong enough for a ZX10 for example :P
I am guessing you have done it all before but if not have a look here for the basics:

Thanks Rob and for the link too, that's an excellent how to write up, well done. I thought the 420 might have been a tpyo :)
