From my investigations theres not much in it.
TKA run DNA filters, (probly cause they are sponsored by the importer.?)
From what I have read DNA breath better than stock and K&N.
K&N breath no better than stock, but they last longer.
BMC std is supposed to be a little better than stock.
The BMC race breathes the best but not recommended for the road.
Haven't heard much about the pipercross other than its foam, not mesh like the others and they claim a 4 hp increase.

I run a BMC Race..

At the risk of telling ya to "suck eggs" just be carefull with the race version particularly if you do a bit of wet weather riding.

The 10 filter is fairly small and as you know and a bit of a barstid to clean all the time!!

I found I was getting crap down the intakes with a race version so went back to the std BMC filter .
I clean and re-oil(K&N kit) every 1000km plus I grease the foam seal to make sure no crap gets past.

I didn't really notice any power difference between the std and the 'RACE' version to be honest , just one keeps ALL the crap out ,the other keeps MOST of the crap out.(unless my one was a dud but looked ok??)

Yep, I wouldn't use a race filter on a road bike either.
We both have zx10r track only bikes so the race filter should be fine...
