Anyone ever heard of these tyres, let alone used them?
Just saw a pair in the right sizing on ebay for $320 (plus $30 postage) and was wondering on how worthwhile it was to look into these hoops.

The information below is straight from the manufacturer
STREET TIRES
Tomahawk rubber is supplied under a proprietary confidentiality agreement with a major USA Racing Tire Manufacturer. These formulas are in use at some of the top racing venues.
Race tested, proven and manufactured in Europe for years, now made in the USA in our advanced aircraft tire plant. Remanufactured side by side with 225 MPH aircraft tires, our tires go through the same process and inspections as our aircraft tires by FAA certified staff.
German Laser Shearography testing of each of our remanufactured tires ensures a 100% quality product, just like our 225 MPH aircraft tires. All Tires are ZR Rated
All tires go through Laser Shearography (X-Ray)

From memory they're retreads.
Wasn't Tomahawk the mob that made those coloured tyres a while back?

For the amount of time they say "remanufactured" I would say they are remoulds. I would steer clear - not a lot more will get some decent rubber.

Shit, didn't pick up on the "Remanufactured side by side" bit before, never thought anyone would be nutty to make retreads for bike tyres, but i guess im wrong on that count. Then again it sounds like they do go to significant lengths to make sure they are up to it. But still.........
Also went to Sydney City Cycles to pick up new set of rings for the GSX, and holy SHIT some of the hoops they have are insanely overpriced. corsa rear for 3 hundred and something just for a rear..... Going to go elsewhere for my rear, but still, fark that.
ok guys, forget the idea of the tomahawk tyres, despite the fact they say they get them checked with their aircraft tyres when built, something just doesnt sit right with that, For the "saving" (if any) i'd just go to action and get M1's.

Final outcome for those that are (partially) curious is that i got a pair of pilot sports. I can say again that replacing both the front and rear hoops was the right thing to do as the bike feels stable and a "million bucks" compared to how squirrelly it felt on the shinko's after 10kkm or so of mostly commuting. Shinkos are ok, but for some reason they seem to have jumped up in price and were close to the same price of a pair of Pilot sports or Bridgie M1's. Based on that i went the pilots
