Adjusting brake pedal

hey guys, i'm trying to adjust my brake pedal...but not progressing....i have already removed the guard and re-tightened the nuts, which nut do i turn to make it go up or down????

at the moment it only goes up but i actually want it to go down by turning the nut the other direction doesn't work......

pls help

my cbr was sooo easy to adjust....

my zed is a bastard.. so its still how it was factory....

yes, i worked it out...there were to bolts on the rod......it was very confusing tho, i even had the workshop manual with me!
