metal in coolant

Postby idh959 » Sun Dec 02, 2007 2:35 pm

Hi guys,

I flushed my radiator today, and found lots of fine shiny metal floating in it. Looked a great metallic green that would go better on the outside of the bike than inside.

My only thought is that it might be wear from the water pump. Any other ideas?

green, i bet thats residue on the metal flakes from the glycol. However metal in coolant, unless the bike was new and that was particles never flushed out then yes strong chances its flakes from the pump. Flush it out thoroughly with clean water and then put plain water in there again, then take it for a good run or two, then check the water. any more flakes then check the pump, no more flakes, then not too much to worry about, but check it in a months time.

thats at least what i'd do.
