Here’s something I haven’t come across before (possibly because I have never really had to open my forks up except to strip them) and have noticed twice recently. Did the Race Tech Cartridge emulator swap in my forks and am now going through the whole open forks up, pull valve, adjust preload on valve, replace valve and reassemble fork tops. The last two times I have done this the oil appears to be aerated. Oil level is actually higher than where I set it and when you pull oil out to set the level it has fine bubbles in it. Am I being fussy or have I used the wrong (Motul Expert) fork oil? Oil is only 6 months old so it can’t be old age. The first time I noticed it I had just got back from a ride so the oil had a good excuse to be a bit agitated, but the second time it had been quietly minding it’s own business in the shed for two days and was just as bad. I can’t see a big company like Motul making dodgy fork oil but you never know. Anyone else come across this? Panic or leave it alone?
If a man says something, and there is no woman there to hear him, is he still wrong?
