Clutch Q

Okay, this is probably a stupid question, but...

While cleaning my chain with bike on centrestand(ZZR250), dropped it into first to warm/dry chain before applying new chain lube. The rear wheel turns with the clutch still fully in.

The Honda Rider (who was making sure I didnt drip crap on his concrete :roll: ) says this is not right. Is it? And if not, what should I be doing about it? :?
I used to have a handle on Life,
but it fell off.

This happens on many bikes. If the oil is cold and the rear wheel turns easilly, it is possible for the motion of the clutch on the engine side to effect the wheel through the movement of oil. When the oil is hot it probably won't do it, and any resistance added to the rear wheel will stop it.

The Honda rider has no idea. It's fine and normal, you have a wet clutch.

BTW, I reckon it's very likely that that is an ineffective method for warming the chain because you've got no load on it. Just go for a ride. You'll also avoid dripping onto the Honda rider's concrete if you ride.

Mig, I cleaned it with kero, and wiped *thoroughly* with a rag before starting, was just to get the last wet bits off, and seeing as how a whopping great thunderstorm had arrived between start and finish, wasn't going bloody anywhere :lol:

Mine does it a bit its clutch drag and gets annoying when you are trying to back the bike up a hill in gear with the clutch in.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

It doesnt always do it but when it does it gets hard to find neutral as well.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

haha found out today that if i give my throttle a blip the clutch frees up so i adjusted the idle a little bit and it works much better now.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?
