Nobody said there was anything wrong with them

I like bogaarts cos they're cheaper
I've heard good things about triple m

and Alex at LAE has been able to work out what's wrong with my bike when nobody else who'd looked at it had

Same here. We want to find a new mechanic as we don't want to get the bikes serviced at the bike shops anymore. I will give Tanya's suggestion of Bogaarts a go I think.

There is a mob on Evans Rd at Salisbury, but I can't remember their name to see if anyoen has used them. I might go for a drive and see if I can find them again....

Can anyone recommend a good Kwaka place in Brisbane to get the 12000 km service done on my ZZR?

Can't get cheaper than doing it yourself. For the price of a manual and tools you can do it all. Just need a bit of common sense and patience. Why pay bikee shops money?

Just send the bike in to Tom at MMM.
Seems like they are the only one who can fit in 2 hrs tomorrow to work on the ZZR, everyone else is fully flat out all the way into the new year.

RG, say hi to Tommy for me, he doesn't know my name but tell him it's the girl with the black z1000 who used to ride past and wave, he'll know :)

It will be the first service since I've owned the bike and being a major service, I would like to get a kwaka expert to do it and give the bike a good look over. I'll do the minor stuff.

Kawasaki have revised the *major* service on a few models from 12k to 24k. I am not sure if yours is included in the updated service schedule or not, but its *definitely* worth checking - a Major service includes valve clearance  :x - I have been quoted around $600 for the major on my barge (ZX12R)

The *normal* service at 12k was only $220 or something like that. Ring around a few dealers first, to make sure you aren't going to be charged for something that doesn't need checking anyway....

Spoke to one dealer at Springwood. He mentioned spark plugs, tappets etc. for the 12k service. Quoted approx $400. When I get back to Brisbane I will have to get out the book and will ring around and speak to all those machanics/dealers that people here have kindly recommended.

12 k is just a pretty standard service according to my manual .. apart from the fact it says you need to change the fork oil.

24k is the major with valves etc which = $$$

edit: i dunno what bike u have but thats for my 03 zx6r

Oops! I forgot...
But he did a great job in replacing the steering head bearing, just in time for the long ride up North. hello2.gif

He gave me a discount too!
