help finding dyno tuning in tasmania

Speaking of dyno tuning. anyone know someone in tassie who can do a decent job? hobart area if possible?

Matt, your only option for dyno tuning in Hobart is: REDS MOTOR CYCLE REPAIRS in Sunderland street Moonah - Ph:62286645.
He knows his stuff though - has done tuning work on a few mates bikes as well as my previous bike (a Ho*#a VFR750). Pretty good service.
He happens to love his Kwaka's too - I believe he's got a GPZ900R and a ZX12R.
Have you got any mods on your 9R? I had a 98 ZX9R with Yoshi RS3 and that was fine with standard jetting/air-filter. All I had to do was disconnect the air-valve to stop the popping from the exhaust (and the hell-wicked flames) when you backed-off the throttle.

As far as I know Reds are the only place in Tassie worth taking your bike to. Fastlane motorcycles up here in Launnie recommended them to me a while back. Ill be taking my bike down there if I do any more mods before I move to queensland, I might even take it down just to see what im putting out.

yeh i got an akra exhaust thats about it... painted in the racing green not the stock, and bubble screen as well. probably seen it around if you frequent moonah/glenorchy

ohh yeah i always get the popping when dropping off acceleration too fast.

also i find that if i cruise at about 160 everything is cool but if i sit at over 200 or even a couple minutes when i back off it chokes up and will stall if you let it... figure dyno tuning prolly sort that out. what do you think?

I actually saw your bike out at the Village in Glenorchy on sunday then. It was the akrapovic that caught my attention ... geez I love those things.
I've got a red Z750 but you probably won't see me as I don't get out on it too much except for commuting to Hobart every day.

Back on the subject though: The bike should be able to happily run at 200+ without 'choking up' or running poorly when you back off.

Has the bike been serviced recently (new plugs, air filter clean, carbs balanced etc)? If not (or you've recently bought the bike and aren't sure) I'd suggest that you have the bike serviced first and take it from there. It may be all you need. If you still have problems after that let us know.

Dunno about Hobart but i hear that Ulverstone have dyno tuning expert there & its done by Robbie Vandenburg i think his name is just cant remember how his surname is spelt
