tyre warmers? which brand?

Postby biggyports » Fri Sep 22, 2006 6:34 pm

hey guys, Im in the market for a set of tyre warmers for my NC30.... Ive seen alot of brands out their, especially on ebay... Has anyone got any feedback on good/bad brands as i fear the cheaper alternatives (what im after) may do more damage than good...

Thanks

How, exactly, is a cheap tyre warmer going to "damage" a tyre?

well cheaper products usually entail cheaper materials which usually means things dont last as long or their is higher tolerances in the design and theirfore more chance for something to go wrong.... Which is why im asking the question if anyone has any feedback on certain tyre warmers??

Good enough explanation?

Man the cheapest tyre warmers you can get will still be great for trackdays. AFAIK no warmers out there are actually dangerous or cause damage to either themselves or the tyres.

I am using a half-knackered 'Sportsbike' tyre warmer on the front ATM, and it has a patch about 6" long that does not heat. So before I race I have to rotate the thing to get the whole tyre warm, and this obviously sucks. But it still does it's job. The thing has lived a reasonably hard life so I imagine it was not always like this.

If you want top shelf something like the KLS warmers look the goods. But I don't expect them to be cheap.....
