A little advise needed re: clutch

I need advise on the clutch on my ZX7R, the lever is taking up almost at the bar, how do I adjust it? It seems more than just adjusting the 4 postion wheel on top of the lever pivot point, because it stills feels very close to the bar, to the point of while I'm riding it worries me that I wont be able to disengage the clutch when I come to a stop at the lights etc.
Damn hydraulics, if it were a cable I could just adjust the cable, but I can't see any adjustment on the lever except for the lever position wheel.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Have you bled the clutch? If there is air in the line it will do what you have said.

mfzx6r - I haven't had look down there yet I will check tonight, but I know the clutch was staring to slip bad a the drags a cople of weeks ago, but its fine on the street for now.

jpbikeboy - Ah no I haven't bled since I have had the bike, October last year, so god knows when it was last. ut I will prob do it this weekend anyway.

Just like brakes even if the pads are ok the hydraulics should be bled every 12 months or so to get any water in the system out. If its a 2nd hand bike god knows when the fluid was last changed on it.

But yes, sounds like giving it a bleed is the best idea. My bike's clutch is reasonably worn and my friction point is the furthest out 15mm or so of travel of the lever, anything further in has the clutch totally disengaged.

Thanks for thae advise guys, I bled the clutch this morning, when I took the cap off the reservior it was basicly empty, and when I bled the system there was basicly mud coming out of the bled nipple. Now that its been flushed and topped up I have a good lever once again.
