Does anyone have or know of a way of adding a fuel low warning system to a 94 GPX 250R, would rather know when I am low than find out when I have to change over to the reserve. Any ideas or suggestions welcome
I know that the Suzuki Across has pretty much what I want but was wondering if anyone had already done this or knew a way of doing it

I always just used my trip meter and the reserve tap...never had any problems

The gpx250 has the same motor as my old bike did (el250), the motor in which is exactly the same and as mine popped and farted for about 10 seconds before cutting out, which is more than adequate time to switch over to reserve. I only ever got caught out once in about 12000km of riding on it. I figure that unless kawa's done something daft, yours should behave precisely the same.

Thanks guys, I suppose what I was asking is has anyone added to their existing tank a fuel warning, mine has no problems so far, and should have no issues in the future, but was just wondering if anyone had added a seperate warning system

To add a fuel guage would require drilling/cutting holes in the bottom of the tank. mounting a fuel guage / idiot light. I'd guess most people would say its more trouble than its worth. how long have you been riding for anyhow? Keep it up and it'll just become second nature to just flick the tap while belting along at 80km/h

Mike, road riding now about 1 month, off road about 10 yrs, so used to flicking the tap when needed, I suppose I got spoilt when riding my bro's Across, before I purchased the GPX, and this has a two stage idiot light, one for low main tank and one for low reserve tank, suppose I could always see how they have done theirs
