scheduled maintenance after 100,000kms

Thu Dec 29, 2005 10:14 pm

hi everyone
my 1999 zx6r has recently clocked over 100,000kms, i don't have a manual for it but i was wondering what needs to be serviced and when at around this time?

i had a valve clearance done at 85000, rearshock replaced with a WP unit and fork oil replaced as well.

fuel filter was replaced recently too

so far it seems to be running ok, i've just changed the oil and filter every 5000kms

thanks in advance

this is the key to longevity. Keep up this maintenance schedule for oil/filter changes, and your baby should continue to tick along for many more years....

Only other things to keep an eye on - air filter, plugs, brake pads, chain & sprockets - Replace as required, once you are over 100,000km.

Urm wuldn't you replace tehse as needed regardless how many k's the bike has done? For instance my bike is at like 96/97k somewhere around there, if in 500k time I need new brake pads i'm NOT waiting to hit the hunderd k :)

theres a difference between taking it as gospel and taking it as a guide. If shit starts needing attention, then wind the service forward a few hundred (or thousand) k's
