dunlop qualifiers?????

Hi, can anyone give me some info on dunlop qualifiers,I have a 2000 zx9r,I have had michellen sports on, and would like to know the difference,cheers Steve.

lucky if anyone has had a chance to try these out yet mate, they are still being rolled out of the slow boat from US as we speak.......

although I would also like an opinion on these, unlike lots of other people, I rather like my Dunlops, and these babies sound pretty good from all accounts......

There was a test in AMCN last week. They gave them a pretty good rap saying they were a big improvement over the 208... they didn't really compare them to other brands...

I'll give them a shot next time, I always liked the not so popular dunlops... there slicks were the best...

I will let you know what I think Once I wear out my current tyres and fit them. I tripped over a set cheap (ex new R6 so will be a different compound to the US ones) from a Superstock racer who put the control tyres on from the get go.

Well I only got a short ride on them.....circa 30 mins.....when I test rode the 06 ZX10R. I was pretty impressed with the level of grip they provided. They handled the poke of the 10r pretty darn well actually. I gave it a bit of stick, but not ridiculous amounts as...... it stuck well on the roundabouts and on and off ramps around the parliamentary triangle.

I'd love to give them a crack through the hills though...

I have em on my '06 10R i used to have Michelin Powers on my '03 6R so in comparison they are very soft on the sides but grip and feel great in the corners very stable with no wobble or movement like i found in the Powers will follow up on wear characteristics in a few weeks but all in all pretty good tyres so far.

I bought a set last Saturday at Freestyle "honda"{dirty word} Frankston{Vic} $460.00 fitted,and was just wondering if I have done the right thing

I was looking for new rubber for my zx10r and came across this article.

Long may the D208 (and D218) remain dead because Dunlop has addressed the chief problems with the old D208, hard feeling, a slow warm up time by comparison and a lack of feeling for grip. They did that by listening to its customers, thousands of us.
The result is a different tyre altogether, rather than an improved version of the 208, which makes it a massive improvement. It still feels harder than, say, a Pirelli Diablo Corsa (one of the tyres they used for benchmark testing) but that doesn't mean the Qualifier lacks grip. When I say harder I mean it seems to deform less under load, maintains its shape better if you like, which aids steering and makes flicking a bike through a chicane less effort than a softer tyre would be.
It's still a road tyre which means grip is compromised for the sake of stability and longevity but that is common across this sector of tyre. Ultimately a bike such as the Kawasaki ZX-10R asks too much and the rear Qualifier began to run out of grip after a few laps.
That puts the new Qualifier firmly alongside Michelin's Pilot Power and Pirelli Diablo in the sport road market.

Nice review m801kta I might give a set a go as well if they are available at a reasonable price when the roadgear goes back on the 6r i know they make good tyres the gpr70 was a great thing with plenty of feel and the dunlop slicks seem a good thing too even though i havnt had a chance to try anything else.
