Quick suspension guide

Mon Feb 06, 2012 7:19 am

Hi guys have a quick suspension question. It's probably been spoken about many times before. I have a 2010 ZX10 and I weigh about 80kg all kitted up. What is a good starting point to work with on my factory suspension? Clicks in and out and spring preload. Mainly road riding on rough shitty Vic roads.

Secondly. What is the best way to adjust the rear spring preload. The shock is really tucked away and hard to get access to. Shock I remove it or does any one know where I can get a decent C spanner that will do the job and won't butcher my shock ?

Much appreciate any feed back

Start with clickers as the book says and work from there.
The springs should be about right for your weight.
Just need to set the sags. About 30mm from and read rider sag is a good starting point for the road.

If you need to adjust the shock preload without using the hammer and screwdriver method.
Then year rip it out and do it. C-spanners you can get at most bike shops.

Under seat toolkit in a zx10 won't have a c spanner. Too heavy :)
