Parts from the US

Thu Nov 10, 2011 8:19 pm

I recently purchased a 1993 ZZR600 and have been told by my mechanic I have a leaking water pump. He has done a temporary fix but suggested I look around for a replacement before it leaks again. I have got prices on a few second hand items and priced them new from within Australia but when looking on the net I notice that the same pump is half the price in the US.

My hesitation from buying over seas is the model of my bike is different in the states and I am not sure that the parts for a ZZR600 are identical to a ZX600-E1. I have tried and failed at getting the part number out of dealers when getting prices on new parts here.

Does anyone know if Australian part numbers are the same as the US items? Can anyone recommend a store OS where to buy spares (like water pumps)?

Don't know about your bike but I usually check pommy site first, then go to US sites as they are usually cheaper.

Have a look around and maybe someone here can help with why there are pommy and 1 US.
