i was about to take the motor bike into the shop when my cousin came over he said to drop by a motorcycle wreckers he knew one of the mechanics the bloke was nice enough to take a look he said all the small hoses goto the 3 vaccum ports under the carbies and he showed me where the other hoses goes i will work on it tomorrow and let u all know how i get along also the last owner snapped off the mount that holds both throttle cables this is completely snapped off off of the 4th carbie so i will need to get it welded back on im assuming i need to strip the carbie down for welding?

Mines a 96 model, prob the same, see how u go, i wouldnt be going anyehere near it with a welder, if u got the tank and air box off, easy job getting carbies off.
Suss out the wreckers, maybe able to find a old buggerd set cheap, and rape it for parts u need? not a hard job stripping them, just takes a while!!! doesnt one of those hoses go into the front of the air box? couldnt quiet see enough in the photo

ok guys i got her back together using a bottle as a fuel tank she runs beautiful very throttle touch it sounds ******* wicked! with the full carbon exhaust but now i have a problem there are 3 outlets on the ON/OFF tap one goes to the tank than i have one hose on the bike that goes to the fuel pump where does the 3rd one go?
and its blowing a small amount of smoke could it be running lean or rich? or could it just be the engine was laying on its side for a while on its trip from melb-sydney a couple of weeks ago?

Usually a vaccum hose goes to the fuel tap, and if bike was laying on it side then I wouldn't be to worried if it blowing smoke, but it should clear up after a good run

ah ok i seen the small hose coming from the fuel tap i thought it might not have been used i will hook it up to the vaccum tomorrow thanks

How much fuel is in your tank?
I have a 93 model - the 2 hoses side by side on the tap go to the 2 outlets at the bottom of the tank - 1 for the "On" position and 1 for "Reserve". The reason one doesn't leak is because you probably don't have enough fuel in the tank and it's only your reserve hose that's leaking.
Did you get your vacuum hose under the air box sorted?
Pretty sure the manifold vacuum hose goes into the bottom of the air box. I will check over the weekend for you. I should bloody know I've had the thing off that many times
