Suspension help

Hi blokes
My 05 zx636 has a standard rear shock but 07 zx6 frorks.Can anyone offer advice on the springs i should run? im 105 kgs,soon to be 100 maybe a bit less
In case it makes a differance just thought i might add
Im going to buy gold valve kits for front and rear to put in the fronks n shock at the same time i change the springs

Every bike is different and differs again for rider weight and use and takes some setting up, because you are asking I figure you haven't rebuilt suspension before so that really is a question and job for a suspension specialist, I dont know who to recommend in NSW but I am sure someone will come along shortly.

Nah, you're not. You could buy a shock Gold Valve kit, sure no problemo, generic 40mm piston, easy. But the fork cartridge for the 2007/8 6R is a non-rebuild-able design. If 2005/6, then no problem valve away, although it should be added that 2005 compression pistons offer a similar amount of flow to a GV anyway, and do they actually suffer from choking anyhow? ...but irrelevant, if you have 07 fork, then you can just play with oil and spring rates, that's all. 10's or 10.5N would be about it for 105kgs.

If you do strip and build the shock, don't forget a new diaphragm, otherwise sort of pointless IMO... best of luck!

Zeno, as he should be, is on the money with his comments. If you read between the lines, and perhaps talk to Zeno personally, you might find a better solution for similiar or not much more coin!!!! I would be chatting with him if I were you. As for the forks, do you still have the old forks?? I would be working with them instead of the 07-09 stuff, because as Zeno says, they 05's actually have reasonable valving to start with and are also able to be fettled internally. What was the reason you went to the 07-09 forks?? was it for a brake swap? If so, it's better to just change the M/C on the 05 636 as that achieves great results. Mind you, at 1'45"s around the Island on BT014's the brakes never gave me any issues. Having said that, I do know a few racers complained .....
