gpz1100b2 speedo noise

gday everyone
Got a gpz1100b2 witha strange whirring noise coming from speedo.Thought it was the cable,but disconnected it and noise still there.Anything above about 30 kmh and the noise appears and gets louder under acceleration.Strange considering the cable isnt even on the bike.Its definately coming from the speedo drive at rear of conso;e.Any ideas?

Definately coming from speedo console end.I wonder if housing where cable actually goes into speedo has come loose or rattling or something.
