Trickle chargers

Sun May 29, 2011 11:23 pm

Going away for 6 weeks and considering purchasing a trickle charger as the bike wont be started during this time.

Noticed this one @ stoopid cheap auto.

& this one fleabay

Is it worth purchasing one for such a small absence or should i just disconnect the battery?

The ctek or equivalent is an actual trickle charger. Comes with plugs you can leave connected so you don't have to pop your seat off etc everytine you want to whack it on.

The supercheap one technically charges at too higher rate for motorbike batteries and cuts off the trickle charge after a period, no good for the future if you take an extended trip.

See the site sponsors thread.

Can Vouch for Master Instruments, I have bought assorted multistage trickle charges from Dave over the years & the gear is top notch!

How much are they and how many bike side plugs do they come with? We don't buy from Stupid Cheap any more and one of these might be handy considering how often some of our bikes get ridden.

i've got an optimate and a ctek. kept two bikes' batteries charged while we were OS. both do pretty much the same thing. think repco sell the cteks.
