'05 ZX6 Two Brothers Installation Problem

Sat Apr 02, 2011 6:22 pm

Hi all - I'm new to the forum but excited to be here!
My name is Skye and I live in Sydney. I have a blue '05 ZX6.
I have had my bike for a year and decided to get the Two Brothers Dual Slip-ons because they look totally awesome. I've opted for installing myself, with a little assistance from my man :), but we're having an issue getting the junction tube to fit into the collector. It just seems like the angle isn't right. I would be stoked to hear any tips / ideas, and excited to know what we're doing wrong!

Thanks!

Hi Skye, welcome to KSRC.....
Its not the easiest to fit but I found that some high temp grease makes a world of good ;)
Best pipe for the 636 but viewtopic.php?f=24&t=26987&hilit=two+bros

The angle does seem all wrong!

There's a cover that's part of the swing arm - make sure you've taken that off. It's still a tight fight though. Use swear words - that seemed to help get mine in. And a booby flash to keep him motivated to continue after skinning knuckles ;)

You could also loosen the headers if the bolts are accessible to give some flex room.

Thank you all so much for your help! Cath, I will definitely get that cover off and have another go. The header bolts are really hard to get to so I might make that a last resort! Thanks to all for saying how great the pipes are, I'm so excited to get it going!
