Engine surging

I learned something today.
My bike engine was cutting in and out within a second for no apparent reason at random rev ranges.
It caused my bike to throw me forwards violently and then almost spit me off the back.
This meant I had to ride the rest of the way home with the clutch in my fingers to prevent it from happening again.
If it surged while I was in a corner I would have gone down for sure.
Turns out it was not the fuel filter but my secondary throttle body had seized up.
The primary throttle body is controlled by my hand/throttle and the secondary throttle body is controlled by my ECU.
This meant I had incorrect amounts of air in my fuel air mixture, hence the surging and a bike that idled at 2-3k RPM.
My bike has a brass throttle body which does not require lubrication.
Thanks to Brighton Kawasaki's excellent customer service and explanations of their work.
I hope this thread helps someone with a similar problem one day and saves them money.

It would even be more helpful if we knew what kind of farking bike you ride, as "not worth mentioning" could be a lot of different things.

It does a test of those every time you start up, shouldn't it have been throwing up an error code if they were seized?

The story has taken a new twist, for the worst.
She is doing it again.
Frank (the mechanic) seems to think it is a fuel issue so he is taking it back on Monday.
Soooooooo annoyed, I expected it to be fixed.
I have spent enough money on her.

Any ideas?

just pull the secondry butterflies out and get it remapped, could be a faulty fuel pump on its way to a slow death? stopping and starting repeatedly?

Well, I got her back again today and the verdict is...
...it is the side stand spring. It is loose causing the engine to cut out so they have disengaged it and sent me home. If it does not happen again that is it and they will fix it. If it happens again I will spit the dummy.

Well that makes sense, but is a pretty random cause.

i was going to suggest, loose wires at some point ? side stand ? Loose battery terminal ? sounds like a fault where if its on and off its something being connected then coming loose then back on...

Turns out it is

when it happened to my on my 04 zx6r it was a problem with the fuel injection... side stand makes sense though, because it disables the engine, normally you cant push start a bike, but if you are already at speed it would re-start the engine and the backlogged fuel would fire causing it to surge forward...

It has not cut out and in again since the side stand kill switch has been deactivated so problem found.
I am glad the problem has been found so I can enjoy my baby again.
