Starting to look into these but want to know if anyone uses them?

Advice on what to look for?
How do they go with trackday operators when they dont alow timing?
Mounting techniques?
Techy info that could be handy?

FWIW
I was looking at a QStar BT-Q1000eX which is a 5Hz receiver and records to 8MB internal memory that can download to PC/laptop via USB or bluetooth. The info also says that as well as 5Hz receiving it also records waypoints at 5 tps and it seems to infer that others don't record that often so don't know if that is the case.

When I was looking a few months ago these were near $200 which is why I didn't go ahead with this option. I think some have found other recorders a lot less than this though.

Hey Blurr

Were offering 3 different Race Chrono systems ,
1 is your qstar gps reciever that you use with phone,

The other 2 are with a touch screen display,

And this one

The other good thing about the race chrono systems do not have to be visible to work if you know what I mean.

Give me a shout anyway.

This is the bit I'm interested in. What are they going to do if you rock up with one on a dedicated race bike? They obviously let the ASBK teams run their bikes at trackdays with all the gear on, but what would they try to do to mug punters like us? Especially when they hear a big group of people from KSRC are there and start harrassing us like they did at the Christmas trackday last year.

Tape it over, just like you would your speedo?

but I dont tape over my speedo as I want the gear indicator.

I am happy to tape over the timer but thats about it

Seeing the 10R has such a clear easy to read tacho, i wouldn't replace the whole thing.
But if u were the starlane set up http://www.starlane.com/ on either of the first 2 models it easy enough to tape over the timer.
They can't stop u doing a TD if u have a after market tacho seeing all OEM's have a laptimer built in. Even if u rocked up to scrutineering with the timer function on with the OEM they won't know any different.
