Fitting side mount Ohlins Steering damper ZX10R 06 -07

Sun Jun 20, 2010 7:09 pm

Hello I am in need of assistance again, would it be possible to side mount a 150mm Ohlins steering damper on an 06-07 ZX10R?

I have done a bit of searching and found side mounting brackets available on the 04-05 ZX10R but not for the 06-07.

The one I have found is pretty cheap and I have heard the stock 06-07 Ohlins are pretty crap compared to the real Ohlins.

Thanks in advance for your help guys :kuda:

i dont think there is anywhere for it to mount mate?

why do you want a side mount?

just get a kit put through your stock on for about 150 bucks max?

The fella who crashed it took it off before it got salvaged.

I was thinking about doing a side mount because I came across the steering damper at a good price and I also heard that side mounting is better but I'm not sure how better.

generally the side mount ones have a longer stroke, so can be fin tuned more.

honestly, if i was buying as damper, i'd be getting a Scotts Rotary damper. lots of adjustment options.

+1

Our suspension guru down here swears by the Scotts dampers, he reckons they are by far the best steering damper on the market.
