Eyy guys,
removed the rear mud guard which is also part of the chain protector on my 05 zx6r last night. Ive noticed alot of ppl doing it! I think the bike looks heaps better with the rear wheel exposed. Is it reccommended to have a chain protector there or does it not matter?
Some help would be appreciated!
Thanks Guys

it doesnt matter if you wanna be cleaning the chain lube off your bike everywhere and the stone chips on your nice and pretty shock and undertail.
did you remove the "hugger" with chain guard or the fender? up near the pipe where your number plate goes?

i removed both! I removed the fender because i bought a comp werkez fender eliminator and the chain guard (The chain guard and tyre hugger were 1 the one thing. They connected to eachother so i pulled them both off. Ive seen quite a few people who have taken them off! Also the tyre hugger was hitting my fender eliminator. Is it bad to take these off?

most bikes look better with the fender off, BUT if you ride in the rain or a dirty section of road the back of you and your bike is going to get covered in sh-t
I have a fender eliminator on my bike and yes I get covered, although when touring in the rain I have the gearsack rack turned around to the rear and it acts like a high mud guard

The original 05 - 06 model did not come standard with a hugger just the chain guard

anyway do whatever you want.... in the eyes of the law its bad, for the look of the bike its good
